CLIENT WORK // Maria Killam

It’s not often that clients come to me two weeks after launching a brand new website, but in this case that was the starting point for a rebrand. I was contacted by Maria Killam (author, speaker, decorator, and CEO & Founder of Understanding Undertones) last month. She had seen my work on Instagram, and was hoping that I might be able to create a new brand for her company. After an in depth brief with Maria I discovered that she was hoping for something more personal from her branding, specifically a monogram of her initials, M & K. Given that Maria is an internationally sought after Colour Expert, and specializes in teaching colour undertones, and has a blog named Colour Me Happy, I suggested her signature sunny yellow as a good starting point. Drawing inspiration from details in her existing photography, such as her striped dress and yellow jewelry, I assured her that a monogram of her initials was a great idea, and with that we moved forward to create a brand that she loves.
